Your Perfect Cheap Wedding Reception
Ok...When it comes to planning a cheap wedding reception you've got to take your time and be careful!
The
wedding reception/venue is an area where costs can get away from you. There are
a lot of things to consider and quite a few potential hidden costs to be aware
of.
First you
will need to narrow down all the wedding venues to the right one for you and
your budget. You will also need to know the best questions to ask before you confirm
your booking.
You
shouldn't underestimate the importance of choosing the right venue. Your choice
will affect everything, how your pictures look, the number of guests you can
invite, how you're going to decorate it etc. etc. Not to mention how and where
your guests will park their cars. (Well, I did warn you there were a lot of
things to consider, but don’t worry that’s what I’m here for).
Depending
on your budget, some of these options may or may not fit, but rest assured
there is an option to suit everyone. There are hundreds of different
cheap wedding reception ideas to choose from.
- Very tight budget - If you are really having
to watch the pennies you may wish to consider the most straight forward
and simplest of options and get married at your local registry office or
go to Gretna Green. Don't knock it; this method is very quick, simple and
cheap. Plus it will leave a lot of the wedding budget left over for honeymoon
or a big party for your guests.
- Marriage Licence - no matter what type of service you want or where you decide to have your ceremony, you'll need to get a marriage licence. Here is a simple to follow guide to help you out.
- Marquee or Tent - you could still save on
the venue by having a civil service or small church wedding and then have
a marquee or tent in your garden. The beauty of having a tent or marquee
is you can have all your friends round a day or two before and have a
decorating party with a few drinks, which will get everyone in the
partying mood. But beware; there are downsides to using a marquee or
tent...
- Package Deal - This is a one stop shop
method where you book the entire wedding including the venue and
everything else as a package and then let the company arrange everything,
from the flowers to the photographs and most of the other major
items. It’s should be quite a bit cheaper than sorting the various items
individually but as usual there are disadvantages...
- Marry Abroad - with this method you can
roll the wedding into the honeymoon and is a good way to save money and get a beautiful and cheap wedding reception. The list
of options when marrying abroad is pretty much endless, Caribbean weddings to cheap Vegas weddings or why not have a beach
wedding...
- Cruise Wedding - this also takes
advantage of rolling the wedding into the honeymoon by booking a cruise
wedding. Plus you can spend the rest of the honeymoon with your nearest
and dearest.
No matter
which of these types of cheap wedding reception or venue you decide to go with you do need to be
aware of the advantages and disadvantages to each type. It's easy to assume an
all-inclusive wedding package will mean you don't have to do anything because
that simply isn't the case.
All
weddings are stressful and each type of reception/venue will just have different
areas of stress. The secret is to know what these are before you decide
on your venue. That way you know what’s coming and how you can deal with it.

whether you want a venue to suit a very tight budget, an all in wedding package,
a wedding cruise or to tie the knot abroad, follow the links to the relevant
